Carly Sawyer was a beautiful little 5-year-old girl trapped in the
middle of a bitter custody dispute. For 2 1/2 years, two families
fought over the child…but, in the end, her father, 24-year-old Joshua
Sawyer, was granted custody. Wednesday evening, paramedics were called
to the Sawyer home on a report of an unresponsive child. There was
little that could be done for her…Carly died on Thursday. Now Joshua
and his second wife, 21-year-old Brandy Sawyer, are facing murder
charges in the death of the little girl with the precious smile.

The M.E. determined the cause of death was blunt-force trauma…with contributing factors that included starvation, ligature restraint and medical neglect. Joshua was charged with second-degree murder and felony child neglect. Brandy was charged with first-degree murder and felony child neglect. There were two other children living in the home…it has not been determined if either of them have been abused or neglected.
There is a weird little twist to this tale–Brandy’s sister, Dana Browning, 19, was arrested in November on charges of concealing the birth of a child, failure to report a death and obstruction of justice. Dana is accused of putting her dead newborn girl in a plastic bag, and tossing it in the trash.

This is one cold hearted woman. Just looking into her eyes gives me the chills.
I'd really like to know why the father got custody, especially since the mother worked so long and hard to keep her baby.

it seems to me that when a sept-mother,girlfriend,sept-father or boyfriend comes into the scene of a broken family the children or child of that family have to suffer....when will people or families realise that children are innocent and no nothing of a broken family situation.
Seems this little Angel ended up with the wrong family and paid the price...RIP Carly
